General Summary:

The Engineering Documentation Specialist plays a critical role in supporting Corporate Engineering/Corporate Shops. This function is essential for documentation and executing changes on existing engineering files or newly created files in the Engineering Database. This individual will make sure tooling and equipment procurement packages are updated to reflect the latest build revision.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Document and execute changes on existing engineering files (models, drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), etc.) within the Engineering Database, Enterprise PDM (EPDM), where heavy use of 3-D CAD will be required
  • Create and execute shop work orders from engineering equipment procurement packages in EPDM
  • Order project purchased items in Oracle for engineering projects and other miscellaneous tasks on the shop floor
  • Organize and monitor equipment procurement packages in EPDM for accuracy of future equipment builds, which includes but is not limited to, engineering models/drawings, BOMs, and quotes
  • Review and execute ECO (Engineering Change Order) for redline drawings on tooling and/or equipment components within EPDM
  • Work closely with ZEC supervision and ZEC team members during equipment assembly and project initiation of equipment build(s)
  • Aide in set-up and utilization of mobile, 3-D CAD kiosk(s) on the assembly shop floor to review complex equipment build documentation/assembly models with ZEC assembly shop team members
  • Create technical equipment documents, such as operation manual, one point lesson, etc., for new and existing equipment
  • Create/Design new parts and/or assemblies where design gaps are noticed to complete full bill of materials for equipment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • 4-year BSME/BSMET degree with internship/co-op experience or 2-year Associate's Degree in an engineering related field with 2+ years relative work experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A creative team player with demonstrated mechanical aptitude skills
  • Skilled in 3-D CAD methods, preferably SolidWorks
  • Willingness and understanding of being able to work in a fast-paced environment where interacting with team members on a daily basis is essential
  • Time management skills/capability of multi-tasking/handling multiple projects
  • Hands-on style
