Zeus is a great place to work, but it isn't for everyone. Expectations are high and there is a lot of information to grasp. Successful candidates will have that desire to learn, are curious and questioning and are up for the challenge. Hours are long and overtime is almost always abundant. Normal work hours are 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., (Night Shift) Monday evening through Saturday morning. Saturday overtime is common and Sunday overtime is unlikely but possible. That adds up to excellent earning potential, but make sure you're ready for 60-70 hour workweeks and working at night. Overtime is mandatory in order for us to meet our customer's needs.

Starting Pay Rate for full-time employees is $22.84/hr. Overtime is paid after 8 hours daily and for all hours worked on Saturday. Assuming satisfactory performance, Zeus' pay rate climbs to more than $25.14/hr. after about a year of service.

Reports to: Materials Supervisor

Job Duties and Responsibilities:


Compounder must keep compounding room, aging room, jar washing room and pigment areas clean to minimize contamination. Compounders must keep aging room stocked with resin and make pigmented material when instructed by Supervisor/Leadperson or designee. Compounder must also wash jars in order to keep supply of clean jars. Compounder must also be able to issue resin to the floor using the Oracle system. Position is a 12-hour per day, usually 6 days per week position with Sunday overtime scheduled as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

In addition to the following, other duties may be assigned.

  • Keep aging room shelves stocked with PTFE resin
  • Must make pigmented jars promptly when told by Supervisor/Leadperson or designee
  • Mixing different raw materials together using scales, volumetric cylinders and rollers.
  • Keep a clean, neat workplace
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations
  • Need to have legible hand writing
  • Properly label jars of resin (Traceability is very important)
  • Shaking, rolling, and mixing containers as required.
  • Perform periodic cycle counting (Setup by Plant Manager, Materials Manager, Production Manager or by Accounting).
  • Must notify department head when raw material is getting low.
  • Qualifications:

  • Standard mathematics skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Able to perform duties with minimal supervision and may need to be cross-trained in other areas.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to perform moderate physical tasks.
  • Required to properly manage the "Jar" and "Resin" storage areas.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically to a height of 48".
  • Use of pallet jack to move up to 1500 pounds.
  • Roll cart with up to 55 pounds of weight as necessary
  • Able to raise approximately 2 lbs. Jars 72" high.
  • Must wear proper clothing (white laboratory coat/coveralls); gloves, masks and eyewear may be required.
  • Temperature range from 50 to 80˚ Fahrenheit.
