General Summary:

This position supports the development and production builds of new equipment in an Electrical Engineering capacity.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow electrical drawings to build and wire panels for automated machines
  • Work along with electrical engineers, fabrication specialists, and other Corporate Shops personnel on new and existing complex controlled equipment
  • Assist engineering in setting up and checking controls operations of machines
  • Troubleshoot PLCs I/O, Electrical Drives, electromechanical systems, and electronic sensors of all types, including new technology measurement equipment
  • Communicate openly with supervisor, electrical engineers, and electrical CAD technician to fully document all equipment wiring
  • Use CAD to develop electrical prints for new machines, including panel layouts
  • Create Bills of Materials for new machines and assist with component selection and sourcing
  • Prepare new and or edit existing PLC, electrical drives, HMI, and vision code as needed
  • Give valued input during pre-installation meetings to aid in installing various machines efficiently and safely
  • Ensure safe and satisfactory operation of new equipment; assist electrical CAD technician by the use of clearly marked prints' red lines
  • Train maintenance staff as needed to service critical equipment components
  • Assist engineering and manufacturing in setting up and evaluating new equipment and processes
  • Be willing and able to travel to various sites to aid in installing various electrically controlled machines
  • Assist with mechanical machinery assembly and troubleshooting as needed
  • Provide technical controls support for Zeus plant sites

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • 2 year Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • 8 years in manufacturing environment field working with electrical machines
  • Knowledge of high voltage AC as well as 24 V DC systems
  • Strong process control background, including Allen Bradley PLCs, electrical drives, temperature, flow, and pressure controls
  • Proficient with using digital multimeter to aid in machine troubleshooting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills in fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Works well in a team oriented environment
  • PC experience, Rockwell Automation software and Microsoft Office software experience is a plus
  • Hands on
