General Summary: The position will support both finance and operations by being involved in the cost accounting systems and processes, as well as the monthly cost of goods sold and inventory reporting.

Principle duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with the month-end close of the general ledger
  • Reconciliation of the monthly physical inventory
  • Prepare month-end plant level financial reporting package
  • Prepare quarterly financial review packet
  • Assists in the quarterly and year-end inventory audits
  • Analyze actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Analyzes and prepares weekly manufacturing variance report
  • Assists with loading annual standard cost update into Oracle
  • Review purchase price variance reports on a weekly basis for raw material cost updates
  • Support Cost Accounting Manager with any ad hoc requests/reports
  • Provide support to plant management for any inventory, job costing analysis and cost estimations

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • At least 4 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • A solid understanding of cost accounting/analysis
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Detail oriented
  • ERP systems experience: Oracle experience a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel: Power Point Experience a plus
  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA desirable
