We have an opportunity available for a General Ledger Accountant in our Branchburg, NJ facility. The successful candidate should be prepared to help provide world-class products and service to a diverse customer base, including many leading medical device manufacturers.

General Summary:

The General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for creating and maintaining all general ledger account combinations, posting journal entries, consolidating Zeus' foreign subsidiary in Oracle, ensuring financial reports balance each month, and creating new financial reports as needed in the Finance Department. Zeus will be migrating to the Oracle Cloud over the next 3-5 years, and the General Ledger Accountant will be expected to participate in the set up and migration. The ideal candidate will have financial reporting experience and experience with managing all aspects of the general ledger. The candidate needs to be a self-starter and bring experience to the table. Oracle Cloud experience would be a major PLUS! Time permitting, the General Ledger Accountant will assist with various other tasks and department-wide initiatives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Approve, create and maintain general ledger account combinations (company, location, department, account) when requested.
  • Maintain and post journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Perform consolidation of Zeus's foreign subsidiary in Oracle.
  • Run various monthly financial reports for management after the books close and confirm inter-company accounts balance.
  • Create new financial reports as needed. Zeus is currently using Oracle's Report Manager.
  • Maintain a centralized library of the various financial reports being prepared and distributed by the department.
  • Ensure members in the organization have sufficient information for proper account coding; training may be required.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports, analyses, and account reconciliations, as requested.
  • Assist with miscellaneous tasks / projects, as requested.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting and the monthly and annual closing processes.
  • Oracle or another large ERP system experience; Oracle Cloud experience a PLUS.
  • Excellent communication skills oral and written.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
