General Summary:


A business analyst (BA) works as a liaison between IT and the business functions they support. The ideal candidate is an individual who has the primary responsibility to analyze, verify, specify, validate and manage the real needs of the project stakeholders, which includes internal and external customers.  A successful BA combines in-depth functional knowledge and technical aptitude with a passion for serving others and driving continuous improvement. The business analyst requires a thorough understanding of business processes and expertise in the business systems.

  Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Analyze systems, data, and business processes to determine the root cause of issues (e.g. systems logic, business process issues, data quality, etc.) and communicate findings to business and IT colleagues
  • Create concise business requirement documents (BRD) to formalize stakeholder requirements and form the core of a plan for project management.
  • Provide direct triage and troubleshooting support to colleagues and partner with internal and external teams to resolve user reported incidents and fulfill business requests
  • Communicate and collaborate with users to analyze business needs and translate into functional design requirements
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to evaluate, design, and recommend business process improvements and system enhancements
  • Serve as the conduit between the business community and the broader IT team for production support as well as the requirements, design, testing and implementation phases of small, medium, and large projects
  • Coordinate activates with assigned subject matter experts within the Business Analysis Center of Excellence (COE).
  • Assist IT leadership in identifying security concerns relating to new BA initiatives and keep security at the forefront when evaluating new solutions
  • Lead stakeholders in evaluating risk when constructing BRD's and other Business Analysis documents.
  • Comply with company's Global IT Policies & Procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in a related field
  • 5 years in Business Analysis or related business experience
  • IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) and/or PMI-Professional in Business Analysis (PBA) Certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of leaders, subject matter experts, end users and developers


Desirable Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in Information Technology
  • Experience working in multiple ERPs including Oracle, SAP, or other comparable systems
  • Knowledge of plastics industry
  • Experience with project and/or program management
  • Familiarity with query languages, business intelligence tools, and data analysis methods
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional team, listening effectively to others
  • Ability to multi-task, work on multiple projects, with good organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft O365 suite including advanced collaboration tools like Teams, Planner, To Do or other comparable applications
