The machine operator has the general responsibility for operating oven and tubing systems used in the manufacturing of products sold to our customers.

Candidate is expected to work with other Technicians to effectively meet or exceed expectations for product quality and production rates.

Candidate must have a basic knowledge of how to set up, operate and maintain ovens, and peripheral manufacturing equipment.

Candidate must also have a basic knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection techniques.

Candidate may also be trained/qualified to perform receiving inspection and shipping activities.


. Has the primary function of operating manufacturing ovens used inthe manufacture of products sold to our customers.

. Proficient in the operation of computerized laser micrometer

. Possesses the ability to read and follow operating manuals, maintenance instructions and procedures.

. Working knowledge of drawings with a limited ability to interpret information.

. Proficient in loading component materials into product specific tools.

. Has the responsibility of following established documentation for product manufacturing.

. Receive customer supplied and/or purchased materials, including proper labeling, handling and movement of materials and paperwork.

. Must accurately document all work performed on inspection reports and customer travelers/work orders and receiving/shipping documents.

. Maintain the segregation of conforming vs. non-conforming product.

. Prepare packages and paperwork for product/materials being shipped.

. Performs in-process inspection of all parts and/or assemblies in accordance with the requirements stated in the work order or as otherwise stated on drawings or work instructions.

. Performs visual inspection both unaided and using microscopes.

. Performs various dimensional inspection using specific dies or gauges, or dimensional inspection systems and micrometers.

. Provides direction within the manufacturing cell to other Manufacturing Technicians assigned to assist them.

. Ability to perform basic manufacturing set up and clean-up tasks.

. Ability to perform set up requirements for the ovens using instructions documented in work order and through training.

. Performs additional duties as required under the direction of the Manufacturing Manager/Assistant Manufacturing Manager.

. Adheres to safety guidelines.

. Maintains cleanliness of work areas, machines, tools and equipment.

. Responsible for recognizing quality issues and communicating these issues to the Manufacturing Manager/Assistant Manufacturing Manager

. Assists in ensuring the correctness of Set Up sheets and In-Process Check Sheets.

. Acts as a resource during audits or customer visits for questions and answers or practical demonstrations.

. Performs job duties with no assistance or supervision. Independent judgement is required.

. Has limited input into hiring, firing, and performance evaluations.


. Educational:

. Be able to read, write and speak fluent English

. High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required

. Physical:

. Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds

. Occasionally move and/or lift up to 1000 pounds (with assistance)

. Environment:

. Work is performed in a low noise, well maintained manufacturing environment with the associated hazards of chemical application hazards.

. Protective Eyewear is required.

. Training:

. Requires on the job training as required to meet job requirements

. Requires special skills based on extensive training and experience.
