General Summary:

To modify, rebuild, repair, calibrate, or overhaul electronic and electrical measurement and quality control equipment. Applies knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions, either verbally or in writing, concerning emergency and scheduled repair, installation, and inspection work to be performed.
  • Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and principles, wiring specifications, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment, and good manufacturing practices.
  • Services Quality Control equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuit modules, printed circuit boards, vacuum tubes, and similar electronic devices.
  • Performs plant-wide device calibrations, making operating adjustments as required.
  • Maintains and installs communication cables and wiring and performs splicing as required.
  • Maintains company-required performance and calibration records for Quality Control equipment.
  • May provide technical direction to Maintenance Technicians and Engineers as required.




Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Experience with SPC, Quality Improvement Programs and ISO fundamentals.
  • Technical knowledge of electronics.
  • Experience with electronic repairs, in the field and bench work.
  • AS in EET or equivalent experience preferred.
