Position Title:                   Corporate Supplier Quality Engineer

Department:                      Corporate Quality

Reports To:                         Corporate Quality Systems Manager

FLSA Status:                       Exempt


General Summary:

The Corporate SQE is responsible for updating and maintaining supplier controls in regards to quality and compliance for incoming raw materials and services. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review, update and maintain Supplier Controls Risk Matrix.
  • Manage approvals of suppliers, including maintenance and approval of QMS Questionnaires and maintenance of Approved Supplier Lists (ASL).
  • Monitor supplier performance and escalate performance issues.  This includes creating and evaluating periodic reports of supplier quality and on-time performance and communication to suppliers.
  • Perform supplier onsite audits when required.
  • Establish and maintain Raw Material Specifications with suppliers and in Oracle.
  • Maintain raw material regulatory compliance questionnaires and Master Materials Matrix.  Evaluate and approve supplier questionnaire responses and maintain records.
  • Review and statistically evaluate supplier inspection data for quality trends.
  • Manage raw material non-conformances with suppliers.  Issue, review, and approve Supplier Corrective Action Requests.
  • Lead Supplier Review Board meetings.
  • Submit and document 3rd party raw material testing
  • Provide technical support for monitor testing (ASTM) of incoming resins, including statistical analysis of results.
  • Lead efforts to continually improve supplier quality


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • BS degree in technical discipline required
  • Strong statistical background and proficient statistical software such as MiniTab
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Oracle ERP preferred
  • Strong problem solving skills using process techniques for improvement implementation and verification of Supplier Corrective Action implementation
  • Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, IATF 16949 and/or GMP preferred
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have five or more years of experience of Quality Engineering or Quality Management (Supplier Quality experience is preferred)  
  • Well organized and able to perform duties and assignments with moderate supervision
