General Summary:


Assist in performing standard tests to meet standardized method and customer requirements while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.


Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Setup and operation of standard analytical equipment to meet method and quality program requirements.
  • Data collection and compilation in a clear, concise manner in compliance with method and quality program requirements along with application of basic statistical analysis.
  • Prepares test specimens to meet method and quality program requirements.
  • Ensures the confidentiality and integrity of proprietary information and technologies for internal as well as external customers.
  • Provide input for development of standard operating procedures, testing methods and material testing protocols.
  • Maintains laboratory testing to assure compliance with ASTM, ISO and AAMI standards
  • Complies with safety and chemical hygiene programs
  • Setting up thermal testing including DSC and TGA
  • Setting up and identifying polymers utilizing FTIR
  • Dimensional analysis on tubing and heat shrink products
  • Microscopic analysis for contaminants

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year college degree program
  • Chemical or physical lab testing experience, or course work in a Science or Engineering curriculum with an interest in lab operations
  • Ability to carry out oral and written instructions
  • Detail oriented able to observe and record details
