Position Summary The LMS Administrator & eLearning Specialist serves as an integral member of the Organizational Development's Learning & Development team by contributing innovative ideas, participating on project/work teams and aligning work tasks to support department goals. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining the organization's learning management system (LMS) as well as designing, developing, implementing and evaluating online courseware. Essential functions include LMS administration, technical training and assistance, instructional design, online course development, employee/learner training, content creation and maintenance, and assistance with executing corporate education initiatives. Essential Duties and Functions LMS Operations & System Administration

  • Serve as primary LMS Administrator, and leads efforts to optimize and increase adoption of the system
  • Serve as LMS subject matter expert, providing insights and best practices across the organization
  • Provide technical assistance to learners and other system administrators
  • Support learner accessibility and promote efforts to improve user experience
  • Monitor and maintain security roles and permissions for selected administrators
  • Liaise with vendor's designated representative to understand how to continuously integrate and align LMS with internal business priorities and initiatives
  • Maintain data integrity related to uploads and inputs from associated systems and software
  • Oversee, develops the general policies and procedures related LMS registration, approval workflows and course scheduling
  • Maintain catalog accuracy related to course descriptions and course/class changes

E-Learning Instructional Design & Development

  • Serve as a contributing member on project/work teams by participating in all phases of the instructional design process
  • Utilize adult learning principles, design engaging and interactive eLearning solutions that are aligned with organizational objectives
  • Design, develop, and edit online courseware using Articulate Storyline and other authoring software
  • Uses the instructional design scripts, assembles different elements (text, audio, video, graphics and animation) into a coherent program, develops the rapid prototype, creates databases and constructs reporting mechanisms used for student tracking and debugs the program through alpha and beta tests.


  • Measure effectiveness of training and learning solutions using evaluation methodologies and data analysis; make recommendations based on the findings


  • Bachelor's Degree in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, Education Technology or related field OR Bachelor's Degree and minimum of five years relevant, practical experience
  • 5-7 years of LMS Administration experience; Talent Quest LMS experience preferred
  • Highly technology-literate; ability to quickly learn new applications, software and tools
  • Experience with courseware development tools a plus (Articulate, Camtasia, Captivate, SCROM)
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory
  • Demonstrated expert ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate training and learning solutions using instructional design methodologies
  • Skilled in various computer applications (MS Office applications, WebEx, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and an ability to collaborate effectively with diverse populations
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Remain current in profession and stay abreast of industry trends and best practices
