General Summary:

Plant Routing Clerk develops, structures, and maintains bills of material and routings needed for production or planning. Acts as the focal point between engineering and manufacturing/production. Ensures that bills of material and routings actually represent the production process and that all pertinent production personnel know that bills/routings have been changed.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Copies Bill of Materials and Routing and makes changes that reflect manufacturing practice.
  • Copies and maintains drawing files.
  • Inputs and edits all Best Business Practice data into Routings.
  • Maintains plant ECR / ECO procedures as related to Bill of Materials and Routings.
  • Monitors plant work rates and Yields
  • Assists the Planner/Schedulers and Production Support Specialists as needed.
  • Maintain current customer supplied drawing files at local level.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Two years of college
  • Two years of production planning experience (Bill/Routing exp preferred)
  • Excellent Typing skills (45 WPM Minimum)
  • Proficiency with PC-based software packages and spreadsheets
  • Ability to work with multiple schedules and timelines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Problem identification and analysis.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • APICS Certification a plus
