The Quality Engineer will be responsible for advancing manufacturing processes and technology in this business segment. They will review quality standards, tolerances, and engineering changes.  Investigates and analyzes quality problems, recommends solutions and ensures corrections are made accordingly.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Establish and maintain document and record requirements.
  • Plan, develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for new and existing products
  • Serve as Management Representative for customer and third-party audits
  • Plan and facilitate site Management Reviews with Plant Manager
  • Determine quality training needs for inspectors and operators. Provide training as needed
  • Assist Sales in review of contract requirements and our capability to meet them
  • Document and report issues related to purchased products
  • Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection
  • Monitor effectiveness of inspection function and implement changes as required
  • Develop test and inspections methods as needed. Perform measurement system analysis and improve measurement capabilities.
  • Conduct machine and process qualifications
  • Establish controls for process and product changes
  • Maintain product identification and traceability controls
  • Maintain gage calibration system
  • Maintain internal audit program including process audits, and audits specific to corrective and preventive actions
  • Establish and maintain effective process for control of nonconforming materials
  • Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities and initiate actions for improvement
  • Investigate customer complaints, yield issues, and other process failures and initiate corrective and preventive action as appropriate.
  • Lead problem solving teams to achieve improvements, while developing and maintaining continuous improvement records

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Four year Engineering degree, ME preferred
  • Two year associate degree in a technical field acceptable with adequate Quality Assurance experience
  • Good working knowledge of advanced statistical tools and data analysis
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and statistical software
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Working knowledge of metrology and GD&T
  • Must have 20/20 eyesight, corrected vision is acceptable provided that with corrective lens, eyesight is 20/20.



Knowledge, skills, and abilities desired:

  • Trained lead or internal auditor
  • ASQ CQE certification preferred
  • Plastics or polymer experience preferred
  • Industry experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or Medical is preferred
