The Associate Buyer will work as a member of the purchasing team along with internal customers to procure materials and services with the ability to expedite purchase orders when necessary. In order to effectively procure materials and services, the Associate Buyer must be proficient in maintaining, updating and extracting data in our ERP system.

    1. Reviews requisitions, purchase orders, and ERP system data for accuracy and conformance with established policies and procedures
    2. Obtains oral and/or written quotations from suppliers
    3. Ensures that material and production supplies are available in a timely manner
    4. Expedites purchase orders when necessary and notifies requestors of the expected delivery dates and follows up on back orders
    5. Maintains compliance in line with corporate supplier and record retention policies
    6. Identifies alternate suppliers when there are material shortages or longer than required lead-times
    7. Meets with suppliers seeking to establish relationships with Zeus. Reviews materials presented and forwards the information to the appropriate purchasing team members along with recommendations for further consideration. Records all meetings with suppliers and retains for record purposes.
    8. Liaises with Corporate Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure suppliers and the products they supply meet Zeus quality standards set forth by quality procedures, policies and specifications.
    9. Identifies cost reductions, efficiency opportunities and contributes to the achievement of targets including the development of KPIs
    10. Follows Min/Max and corporate guidelines in order to maintain inventory levels.


    1. Essential:

      • Diploma or higher in a related field required.
      • Min 2 years' relevant experience required
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.


      • ERP e.g. Oracle, SAP experience preferred
      • Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a member of the purchasing team along with a focus on continuous improvement
      • Project management skills preferred


      • Well-organized and able to carry out assignments with moderate supervision.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
      • Highly numerate
      • Passionate about data analysis
      • High level of attention to detail and strong organizational, analytical, problem solving & administrative skills
