General Summary:

Ensures consistent application of tools and best practices where it relates to plant maintenance, machine shop and facilities activities.  Through collaboration with the plant teams, defines "What Good Looks Like" for these respective areas.  Responsible for the coordination of capital improvement projects involving the plant's building or grounds. Responsible for compliance with government agencies such as DEP and OSHA.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement improvement plans for the maintenance or machine shop, future direction, and continuous improvement.
  • Determine and maintain optimum inventory levels for the machine shop and maintenance department supplies, spare parts, and tooling raw materials.
  • Responsible for the coordination and implementation of all capital improvement projects involving the plant's building and grounds. This also includes negotiations, scheduling and oversight of all outside contractors.
  • Define departmental KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and report performance (downtime, P.M. attainment, etc.) to goals. These are to be common across sites.
  • Develop and implement improvements to the plant P.M. system. Own the adoption and execution of the system that will replace MP2.
  • Maintain and upgrade the physical plant, property, landscaping and production equipment as needed.
  • Provide oversight on service contracts and assist in managing on-site projects with vendors and on-site contractors.
  • Maintain service contracts and manage on-site projects with vendors and on-site contractors.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks and special projects as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal and management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and project management skills with multiple projects and with multiple locations.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience coordinating the activities of a facility maintenance staff including outside contractors.
  • Familiarity with various government agencies and compliance issues.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to perform moderate physical tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation, required to properly manage the projects, tasks, and duties for which the Corporate Manager is responsible.
