General Summary:

The Assistant Controller will support the Controller with the Financial and Managerial responsibilities of the Corporate Accounting and Finance department. Strong technical and leadership skills are required. Responsibilities will include ensuring a timely monthly and annual financial close of the US parent company and its subsidiaries (including foreign subsidiaries), general ledger account analyses, variance analyses, review of departmental financial statements, treasury functions and ad-hoc projects and analysis.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate timely consolidated monthly and annual financial closings.
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis for the monthly financial package.
  • Prepare year-end reconciliations/support for the annual financial statement audit of the US parent company.
  • Liaise with foreign accounting firms to facilitate monthly and annual closings, tax return preparation and ensure adequate funding for various foreign branches.
  • Manual consolidation and financial reporting of small foreign branches/subsidiaries; includes conversion from foreign currency to USD and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Provide support for the annual consolidated financial forecast.
  • Assist with various treasury functions including the preparation of foreign and domestic wires.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as requested by CFO, Director of Finance and Controller.
  • Improve and maintain accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and GAAP compliance.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • CPA designation is required.
  • A combination of 5-8 years of public accounting and private experience preferred.
  • Financial reporting / solid understanding of GAAP.
  • Excellent financial analysis capabilities.
  • Effective communication verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with Oracle or another company-wide ERP system preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong managerial skills and staff development.
