General Summary:

Ensures consistence application of continuous improvement tools.  Champions making sure best practices are shared across sites. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and champions business improvement planning processes that aligns and prioritizes improvement projects linked to business strategy and business planning at corporate and operational levels.
  • Conducts CI collaboration process consistent with the Zeus Operating System
  • Champions the use of data to improve speed and quality of decision making at leadership  level
  • Collaborates with leadership cross-functionally to ensure effective execution of improvement projects and realization of  impactful cost improvement
  • Collaborates to hire and develop Continuous Improvement resources consistent with the needs of corporate and facility opportunities and processes. Note, most resources will be managed at the facility level, although at times a central ad hoc team might be required to work on corporate/business improvement processes, manage cross functional or transformational improvement projects or support the improvement planning process
  • Partners both internally and externally to actively standardize processes, create an atmosphere of continuous improvement, reduce costs, and collaborate with other functional teams


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Specialized training in Continuous Improvement.
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification or Six Sigma
  • Affiliations with successful companies who practice effective continuous improvement.
  • Strong management skills-principles and people. Experienced working with multiple locations.
  • Superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, flexible.
  • Good reasoning abilities. Sound judgment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Resourceful and well organized.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive but be able to recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities.
  • Results and people oriented, but have sound judgment-ability to balance other business considerations. Service oriented but assertive/persuasive.
